What GPU Is right for you?

Updated: Aug 8, 2021

You're finally ready to take the leap and upgrade your Graphics Card, that's great! The issue is there are so many models out now what card suits you and your purpose?

You've been waiting for cards to come in stock and now they finally have, but what card should you be picking up? The new RTX 3000 Series cards are all great options, supporting both RTX (Ray Tracing) and DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling). Let's take a quick deep dive on what I think are the best GPU pick ups in 2021.

RTX 3070

The RTX 3070 is a steal for 1080p and light 4k gaming. At a "Current" MSRP of $679.99 CAD from Best Buy. Purchasing a FE (Founders Edition) model from Best Buy also gives you a non-LHR (Light Hashrate) Card if you want to do some light mining on the side to recoupe some of your costs. The 3070 is best bang for buck model in my opinion for gaming and mining, averaging over 76 FPS in most 4k games this is defiantly a card to be looking for.

RTX 3080

Want to step it up a little? The RTX 3080 comes packed with 10GB GGR6X and 8704 Cuda Cores. This card is for the 4k gamers and production workers that need the extra memory. Averaging over 100 FPS at 4k in most games you will get an amazing gaming experience out of this card. Currently at a MSRP of $1,029.99 CAD from Best Buy this is definitely a higher end RTX Card.

In my overall opinion the RTX 3080 from Nvidia would be my choice. If it's Mining, gaming or work loads this card can handle it all.
